I was having a bad day back in March (got bad news the day before) and was having a hard time disassociating those feelings at the shoot above ... I think the reason I'm weird about these photos is that I felt vulnerable that day (not because of anything at the shoot, mind you) and I had a hard time hiding it, which makes me look uncomfortable in almost every single picture. I guess they seem more honest than usual, because 9 times out of 10 I'm just acting. I'm more accustomed to dealing in fantasy rather than reality.
Anyway, on to other photos--Makeup and pics below by Nelly Recchia who is like the most awesomest person EVER. This is our 2nd collaboration:
All that sugar made me drool all over myself. No shit. GALLONS of it. And the sugar crash was ridiculous.

So, I'm still having probs with the updates, so they'll all have to wait until I get back to NYC on Thurs...
I just worked with Nelly Recchia again yesterday and she sent me some previews. Here's a sample and it's just the beginning of what we did! Both her and her husband (he's a painter) are so incredibly talented, it's almost unbelievable -- and they're both amazingly honest, kind people to boot!
This trip so far has been amazing--it's nice to be inspired again. I always enjoy my work, but this trip in particular has really been a kick in the ass for me (in a good way). Spring has most definitely arrived and I find my already workaholic self even more motivated! I can't wait to get home though to be with the boy and start working on all these projects we have planned. I've been doing really well professionally over the past year, but was starting to feel more than a bit direction-less, for lack of a better term. I definitely feel much more focused, which is something I desperately needed, I think.
Also, I REALLY need to finally get my driver's license this year like an actual adult (and this time, I MEAN IT!). I get around pretty well when I'm in LA but things would be so much easier if I could just rent a car while I'm here.
Anyway, in the I knew things were going too well department -- despite writing all the positive stuff above I got some really shitty terrible news today (I had actually written the first part of this entry late last night) which will probably aversely affect all of my plans above so I'm really down, cheer me up!! I really need it!

I'm having a little issue getting my updates to go live, apparently a bunch of my uploads didn't complete back in NYC which I prepped before my trip to LA. Hopefully I can rectify the issue over the weekend. If not, there will be 4 updates when I get back to NYC on the 29th! Hopefully it won't come to that!
Despite my best intentions, I've had no time off since I got to Los Angeles. Which I guess is good because I've been both busy and productive and actually creatively satisfied with all of the work I've been doing this trip, which is awesome. I can't wait to share it with you guys!
The only thing that's been bringing me down is that fact that I haven't gotten to talk to my boy much at all because he's been busy on business this week too and by the time I'm done shooting he's in bed for an insanely early wake up call :( I miss him immensely :(
Tomorrow I'm working with one of my new favorite photogs and and makeup artists and we have a huge hotel suite in a fancy-schmancy hotel that is so gonna kick assssssssssss, as we're planning to shoot until we drop. Plus my new Atsuko Kudo ensemble arrived here today and it's so gorgeous I'm actually afraid to put it on.

Heading to LA at the buttcrack of dawn today...was supposed to leave Sunday but the snow here this weekend screwed everything up. It's 1:45 AM and my taxi gets here at 5AM and I'm still not packed! Thank god my shoot isn't until 5PM tomorrow so I can sleep on the plane and nap when I get to LA!
When I arrive, I go right to work shooting for Junker Designs. Then the next day I'm shooting for PinUpGirl Clothing!

I've decided we should have houseguests more often since it motivates me to actually clean the apartment. I'm really anal retentive about people in my personal space which is why I've never gotten a maid (I should get over it--it would save me so much time). On Friday I spent 7 hours cleaning the place (it needed it so badly!) for my buddy and hair stylist extraordinaire Lana's arrival. I threw out so much crap it felt great!
Anyway, we had a great weekend--on Saturday me and the boy did a bunch of shopping and went to our favorite restaurant, then picked up Lana and went to a cute, tiny little bar way down on Essex that had some excellent and tasty drinks. Sunday we just lazed about.
Still gearing up for LA in 2 weeks, but it's gonna be difficult to leave because I have been nesting hardcore lately. It's gonna be hell trying to pry myself away, I love traveling but sometimes I wish I didn't have to do it so often. I haven't been online too much either, so I'm sorry if I've been sucking getting back to people, I promise I will catch up on email soon! I can't believe it's already March. Where the hell did this year go?

Had an awesome shoot today with this guy for this upcoming calendar. Got to finally meet Sabina who was also in town shooting for it and I got to have lucas make my hair pretty again (I hadn't worked with him since my Village Voice cover last summer)! I'm "Lady Luck" in the calendar and they made me up all sweet baby pink and put me in a cute pink-polka dot set from Trashy Lingerie. Thanks so much to Aprella for recommending me!
I was considering going to David LaChapelle's gallery opening tonight but fear it's gonna be such a crowded clusterfuck that perhaps I'll just wait since it's hanging until April.
Speaking of gallery openings, if you're in Los Angeles you should go out to David Stoupakis' opening tonight!
Bah, maybe Rated X tonight? Hmmmmmm....

I'm trying to get rid of this horrible sleep schedule I've had lately where basically I sleep during the day and work/shoot/session at night until the wee hours. It's AWFUL and it must stop because I miss the "living world"! So currently I'm forcing myself to stay awake (I've been going to bed at 6/7AM lately) all day in an effort to go to bed at a reasonable time tonight and get back on track. It's making me cranky since I've been awake for a very long time! LOL! On the plus side, today in NYC was BEAUTIFUL!
